With Pride Month just around the corner, Calvin Klein launched its latest campaign, “This is Love,” to celebrate families in the LGBTQ+ community.
The visuals, shot by John Edmonds, feature a variety of leaders in the community who mimic CK’s latest Pride collection. Actors Sasha Lane and Sergio Lane, filmmaker John Waters and actor Mink Stole, members of The Trevor Project, musician Snail Mail and more styled the clothing line and highlighted the “This is Love” slogan throughout. ” slogan throughout.
In addition to the apparel, the collection features lingerie and sportswear in colors inspired by the Progressive Pride flag – black for beauty; brown for strength; pink for sex; orange for healing; yellow for sunshine; tan for harmony; white for non-binary; turquoise for magic; and blue for serenity. These hues are woven together in a re-imagined collection of traditional lingerie that symbolizes the intersectionality of sexuality, gender identity and sexuality.
The campaign highlights CK’s commitment to supporting the cool kids community. In a press release, the brand shared that it has raised $400,000 this year to support organizations that fight for LGBTQ+ equity and safety. In addition to the “This Is Love” campaign, the brand continues to work with PFLAG National and the Transgender Law Center to support LGBTQ+ education, inclusion and justice, and CK Australia is working with BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation to to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ+ communities.
